The following institutions take part in NOSTER's research projects:
the theological faculties of VU University Amsterdam, Leiden University, Radboud University Nijmegen, Tilburg University, Utrecht University, the Theological University of the Reformed Churches Liberated, The Theological University of Christian Reformed Churches at Apeldoorn, Protestant Theological University, Evangelical Theological Faculty, University of Humanistics and the University of Groningen.

In principle the school's location will be reconsidered every five years by the participating institutions. Until 2010 Utrecht University has been assigned as location for the school.
Noster has formalised international relations with the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium, The Westfälische Wilhelmsuniversität in Münster (Germany) (Evangelisch) and (Katholisch), Lund (Sweden) and Glasgow Scotland.
